TERMS OF REFERENCE
MARCH 2005

The Business Advisory Council will provide strategic advice to Connectus on engaging and harnessing business involvement in prevention initiatives.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Promote the aims and objectives of the Connectus  Project within business, industry and the broader community;
Provide strategic business and industry based perspectives on how Connectus  can engage the business community in consultation and prevention activities;
Advise Connectus  on current and emerging issues within the business and industry environment;
Provide advice on identified opportunities and gaps in the Connectus  Project;
Provides support with the evaluation and the development of replication and sustainability strategy for Connectus ;
Provide support to Connectus  via one or more of the following activities:
 
•  Access to business networks to facilitate employment i.e. links to employers of apprentices or trainees;
•  Sponsorship opportunities;
•  Facilitation of business lunches;
•  Nomination of people to participate in mentoring program to mentor young people;
•  Facilitation of Working Groups as deemed appropriate;
•  Work Experience Placements for young people;
•  Guest Speakers at pre-employment training program; and
•  Participation in presentation and graduation activities.

Attendance and active participation at bi-monthly meetings.
